From the point of view of fans of the Philadelphia 76ers, the 2013-14 season was mostly disappointing. The team’s string of defeats was difficult enough to stomach and it was only exacerbated by the fact that it tied with an NBA record for a losing streak. Overall, the Sixers looked like it was not looking for a victory at all but franchise owner Josh Harris said that everything was all part of a bigger plan.

Despite the 19-63 record, Harris said that the season proved to be a huge success for the Sixers. He said that Sixers goal is to become an elite team, one that would get back to the playoffs and compete for championship, and he admitted that there are no shortcuts to achieve that goal. Sometimes, the best bet for a team is to develop its players.

Meanwhile, Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie has been reported to be an international scouting trip, fans can assume that the team may be looking for good company for Michael Carter-Williams, who has already proven himself to be a part of the team’s solid foundation with his Rookie of the Year award. Meanwhile, head coach Brett Brown has already shown his ability to motivate the team to play hard despite outlooks that they had no chance to win. At this point, it is safe to say that fans can expect a large improvement in 2014-15 and they may even hope for the team to challenge for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
